Kenya's Final Thoughts on Peace Summit
I think that the ideas that we made and voted on in class are very useful. It is ideas and thinkers like these that we need in the world. The Peace Summit was a good form of seeking out a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, because it shows what everyone wants and how many people want it. It also shows what ideas are restated in different ways, which is important because that can let you know what ideas really need to be taken under consideration. A major idea, that was being restated was equal rights. Some people said that the Palestinians should be able to live where they want, move freely, and and get the same amount of aid from America as Israel. Most of these ideas are pointed towards equal rights. However, the only way we got these results is by pushing our differences aside. Which brings up the flaw in this method. The flawed part about this method is that the Palestinians only voted for Palestinian ideas, and the Israelis only voted for Israeli ideas. For this method to be successful, we have to pause for a second, and not only think about our loss, but also about the losses on the other end of this conflict. And then and only then could these two sides have peace.
