An Interview with Shlomo
Question 1- What rights should the Palestinian refugees have?
I am an Israeli, but I think they should be able to return to their own land. Still, I am not to decide what rights Palestinian refugees have. I don't want it to get more violent around here, so someone needs to take action (a wealthier country like the European countries or United States) and do the right thing by giving them a proper home. I also think we could split Israel in half, and both of us would be happy.
Question 2- What should be the status of Jerusalem?
This is a holy place for us, and I think that we should share it with the Arabs. Religion is a thing that we can unite in and stay together with. Let the Muslims come, if they want to. However, I feel it can become a major problem having both Jews and Arabs in a same holy place, though it can be done and solved in a peaceful manner! If we were to split Israel in half, then Jerusalem should be a "no man's land" where no one owns the land except for god, so we would both be able to visit it without fights and such.
Question 3-What should be the status of the West Bank and Gaza, currently occupied by Israel?
We should keep it since it is already ours. As I said before, the Palestinians should just leave this place to us. However, in a peaceful matter, no riots, no more wars, just peace. If we were to split Israel in half, then it should be (3/4) our land and (1/4) their land, or they should just leave completely!
Question 4- Should the U.S. give aid to Israel, Palestine, or both? If so, what kind of aid and how much?
The U.S. is honestly keeping us alive. They should give Palestine some more aid, though, but definitely not weapons. Weapons would create a bigger problem for us. I feel it is fair what they are giving us because we need to keep order here. I try not to get involved and continue with my religious future and the path of becoming a rabbi.
Question 5- What additional things can be done to help prevent and help the current crisis?
There can be a lot done to help solve this major issue. What I think would be the most beneficial and effective is to give the Palestinians another home for themselves and for them to have a safe home unlike now. That way the Palestinians would have their home back like it should have been. They could have a home now, and both sides would win. Where? I don't know. That is a problem for other countries to decide where they will soon live.
