Madeleine and Advay as Daniel and Yarko
STILL SCARED
We still live in fear
Of suicide bombers on bus lines
When me and my brother
Ride to school
Everyone was a suspect.
We looked for bombs
Inspecting every jacket and pocket
When we were kids.
On the bus to work, we still fear
those bombers
Who don't want us to exist.
Serving the military is hard
Manning checkpoints
Why do we have to serve
When others
Who study the Torah
Get out?
When we were younger
Our babysitter
Who was serving in the military
Got injured by a bomb blown up less than
a few steps away.
We know we will change it someday.
We, together, can combine the forces
of the Palestinians and Israelis
to form a unified state.
Why not now?
