My name Sanabel means giving and loyalty, so I hope to pursue my name in a forceful but peaceful way. I think that the only way there can be peace between Israel and Palestine is if there is justice first. The Israelis say mean things to my family and to my peers. The Israelis are not showing justice! I am not even let into Jerusalem without the right papers, even though it is ten minutes away from the Dheishe refugee camp, where my family and I live. We used to live elsewhere, but then they kicked us out of our home and put us into camps. I dance, too, to tell the story of the refugee camp. When I dance, I dance a traditional dance to show the resilience of Palestinian people, because we deserve our land, and we have fought through many wars to get somewhere.

They put my dad, a journalist, in prison for a crime the Israeli soldiers have no way of proving for sure he committed. I am happy he writes letters to me. I write letters, too. Once, though, when it was his birthday and I wanted to send him a letter, they wouldn't let me. Sometimes they let me visit him in person, but we only get to actually see him for half an hour, and it takes much more for transportation and waiting. It takes at least four hours, but it's worth seeing my dad.
