Dylan and Isabel as Faraj

An Interview with Faraj

Question #1: What rights should the Palestinian refugees have?

We should have the right to our homes back. Our homes are not theirs. I also believe that Israeli soldiers should not wander the streets of Deheishe and other Palestinian Villages. We have the right to be untouched.

Question #2: What should be the status of Jerusalem?

I should be able to visit the capital of Palestine as I choose. East Jerusalem is our capital, and it is the Israelis' as well. We should have the equal right to visit it.

Question #3: What should be the status of the West Bank and Gaza, currently occupied by Israel?

Gaza and the West Bank are Palestinian Territory, and Israelis should not live here. They can live in Israel, or someone else. They do not have to invade our property in Deheishe.

Question #4: Should the United States give aid to either the Israelis or Palestinians—or to both of them? If so, what kind of aid?

I believe that the United States should give aid to us and let us create a Palestinian State. Israel is already rich enough; they have plenty of guns and other items. We have much less, especially those of us who live in the Gaza Strip. If this to be fair, we should get the aid. We do not have such weapons as they do.

Question #5: What additional ideas or proposals can you make to bring about a peace and just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian crisis?

For peace they can give us our homes back, such as ours in Ras Abu Ammar. They could also get rid of the checkpoints, and they can stop killing us. We could let go of our bombs as well. Then it will be fair.
