An Interview with Mahmoud
1. What rights should Palestinians refugees have?
We should at least have our homes back. Actually, the biggest thing I hate is that I feel scared that the Israelis are going to do something mean. They don't know what we are going through. They don't know how we feel. I wish I could make them feel what I feel. It's scary! They burn and bulldoze our houses; that's fun for them. Those Israelis don't care. I just would like to leave every trace of them.
2. What should the status of Jerusalem be?
It belongs to the Palestinians. We were here first, and then the Israelis took it in 1967 and gave us animal pens to live in.
3. What should be the status of the West Bank and Gaza, currently occupied by Israel?
The West Bank and Gaza should be Palestinian.
4. Should the United States give aid to either the Israelis or Palestinians or both of them? If so what kind of aid?
I think the United States should give Palestine money to rebuild our houses and give houses to Arabs who need them. Maybe we can kick the Israelis out so we can get our country back.
5. What additional ideas or proposals can you make to bring about a peace and just a solution to this israeli-palestinian crisis?
I think the Israelis should leave; we were here first. They can't just come in and take what is ours.
